PONDA: Three candidates have filed nomination papers for the by-election of Ward 1 in Curti-Khandepar Panchayat.
The seat had fallen vacant following the death of panch Sagun Naik in April. Digambar Zalmi, Anand Zalmi and Sapna Naik have filed nomination papers. The scrutiny of nominations will be on September 5 and September 6 for withdrawal, while the election is scheduled on September 22.
It may be recalled that in June, the by-election to Ward 9 in the same panchayat was held following the death of panch Kamlakant Naik in December last year.
