VASCO: Vasco locals along with Mormugao Municipal Council councillors and former councillor Krishna (Daji) Salkar met the PWD Assistant Engineer to highlight about the poor water supply issue in the port town.

Salkar said that he will submit a memorandum to the PWD Minister and Chief Minister to solve the water shortage problem of the Port town at the earliest.
Women shared their problems they face with limited supply of water with low pressure. They stressed upon the fact that during Ganesh Chaturthi they would require good flow of water supply.
Addressing the media persons, Salkar said, “Today I along with councillors Girish Borkar and Shami Salkar and about 50 locals, mostly ladies, from across Vasco met PWD Assistant Engineer Water Supply Naresh Paiginkar and informed him of the troubles the Vasco locals are going through due to shortage and low pressure of water. With Ganesh Chaturthi just a few days away, it is important that the water problems are addressed on time.”
“The engineer informed us that it has been seven years since a proposal for changing all major pipelines in Vasco has been put up but there has been no follow up from the local representatives. We are sure our request will be heard and necessary action will be taken soon. We will be following up this matter of changing pipelines with the PWD Minister,” he added.
