They say if it’s me today, tomorrow it’s you… And as I was at my work place, I received a call from my aunt saying they met with an accident…
Yes, it was an accident, a hit-and-run case. A Good Samaritan saw them fallen on the road, called the 108 Ambulance and they were rushed to the hospital. They had injuries from head to toe. It was a young couple on the bike who hit them with full speed just because they were behind the older couple.

Recently, my uncle was hit by a car while he was walking home and thrown on the road, the driver ran away and after long hours he was rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. He too suffered head injuries. Most of the accidents take place due to irresponsible attitudes.
People who are irresponsible of their own life also risk the lives of others too. But this was a hit-and-run accident case. Dear people why are you causing such accidents? Even whether you hit someone or not, but being human one must stop by and help those who meet with an accident. Where has the humanity gone?
In Goa hit-and-run accident cases are increasing day by day. Just to escape the situation they wash off the dust and run away. I mean how irresponsible can someone be when you literally hit someone intentionally or unintentionally and leave them dying on the way? It’s the duty of fellow people to help them out.
The injured person can lose his/her life too if he/she doesn’t receive medical help timely due to internal or external bleeding. People should remember that the person whom you hit has a family. That person also needs to get back home too. These irresponsible riders have left families incomplete. Some has lost their son, daughter, father and mother.
Today you will hit-and-run away, God forbid what if tomorrow it is your own sister, brother, son, daughter, mother or father. Don’t forget if it’s me today it’s you tomorrow.
You will feel the pain when you lose your family member or friend due to such kind of accidents. Won’t you feel the pain of the person whom you have already injured and you left them to die on the road? So feel the pain of the person whom you have injured and help them out to ease it. Please do not speed up. You are running late at work? Try to leave early. My mother always told me “Ride slow and safe, it won’t matter if you reach home even after two days, but come home safely”.
Please do not risk your life, your life may not be important to you but its precious to your family specially your parents.
The amount of hardships they face after they see their son or daughter’s death is killing the soul. Manners come from home. Remember, cowards run away, braves win the battle. Please dear people do not hit-and-run away. We everyone have a family.
Always understand, one good deed can save a life and what’s important than saving a life? Please help the injured person till they receive the medical help. So let’s be Good Samaritans – safe riders and drivers and save lives, spread kindness and love.
