PONDA: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman from Ambelim died after jumping off a flyover at Ponda.
Ponda Police said that they received information from the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Ponda on that on August 7 night one Bharati Bhandari was brought to the hospital with head injuries sustained after jumping from the flyover near the flour mill at old Regional Transport Office, Ponda.

However, Bharati succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
Since her death occurred within seven years of marriage, Ponda SDM has been informed about the same to conduct further inquiry under Section 176 of Cr PC.
According to the police, the woman had a strained relationship with her husband Prakash Bhandari and was residing at her female friend’s residence at Chirputem, Ponda for the past four months. Bharati leaves behind her minor son.
