RAIA: SCC Loutolim pipped Ambelim Sports Club 2-1 to enter into the quarter-finals of 7th Martin’s Cup football tournament organised by Betalbatim Sports Club at panchayat ground, on Monday.
Both teams took time to settle and tried to take control of the game but it was Ignitious D’Silva first to hit the net in the 15th minute of play.
Ambelim SC tried hard but couldn’t find the equaliser as Arvind’s 30-yard shot missed the target by whiskers and Loutolim remained 1-0 lead till the half time.
As match entered into the second session, SCC Loutolim scored again to double the lead through Shelford Fernandes in the 45th minutes of play, while Ambelim SC pulled one goal back through Arvind Fernandes in the injury time.
Shelford Fernandes of SCC Loutolim was awarded the man-of-the-match by Pobre Pereira.
