PANJIM: A day after Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) of Goa Police arrested a Russian national and busted a psilocybin mushroom plantation from a rented premises and seized drugs worth Rs 1.70 crore, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on March 27 busted an interState drug racket and arrested two dealers hailing from Rajasthan and seized 532 grams Methamphetamine drugs worth Rs 53.20 lakh from Candolim.
The NCB-Goa Zonal Unit said that it was acting on specific intelligence that an interstate syndicate was operating the illicit drug business in Goa.

It was informed that due to strict checking at various checkpoints at airports, parcel offices and land routes also and Goa being the tourist attraction, a locally operated syndicate was eyeing opportunity to provide narcotic drugs supply into the illegal drug circuit.
” We found that a person identified as J Singh from was in Goa to conclude a drug deal. Various intelligence sources were alerted to detect the activity. He was located around Candolim, and once physically identified, a discreet round the clock surveillance was mounted upon him,” the NCB said in a statement.
On March 27, upon confirmation about possession of drug in bulk quantity, the NCB-Goa team intercepted him which resulted in recovery of 532 grams Methamphetamine. His vehicle used for drug deliveries has also been attached,” said the NCB official
Further, during the investigation, an associate named R Singh who was allegedly providing the logistical support to J Singh for carrying out the drug deal in Goa was also arrested, a statement from NCB said.
