CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias in a press conference refused the allegations of Cuncolim Municipal Council Vice Chairperson and asked Urban Development Department to inquire about the functioning of CMC.

It may be recalled the CMC Vice Chairperson Shashank Desai had levelled allegations against MLA Dias saying he is patronising illegal constructions in Cuncolim Municipal jurisdiction.

Dias said, “I never supported any type of illegalities nor I am patronising any illegal constructions in my constituency.” Explaining about the issue, Dias said some of the residents of Panzorconi had approached him saying that CMC is harassing them and asking bribe to legalise their structures.

“I told those who met me that government has issued notifications to legalise all illegal constructions done before 2012 and built in private property.”

Dias also told media that he will stand on truth and will take up this issue with the higher authorities.
