Govt has fulfilled its promise of developing Cuncolim: CM

CUNCOLIM: Stating that Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias joined BJP two years ago to develop his constituency keeping in mind the welfare of his constituents, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said Dias’ decision has been justified as the government has fulfilled its promise.

Sawant kick-started several development works in Cuncolim on the occasion of the MLA’s birthday. 

Director of Health Services Dr Jose D’Sa, Balli PHC’s Health Officer Mamta Kakodkar, Chief Officer Violet Gomes, ZP Sanjana Velip, councillor Videsh Dessai, Polita Carneiro, Vishal Dessai, Rahul Desai, sarpanch, panchas and other dignitaries were present at the special programme organised at Cuncolim. 

The Chief Minister hailed Dias by calling him a “complete BJP lover” and appealed to the voters to give the MLA another chance.  

The Chief Minister said the government has succeeded in reaching out to the poor, unemployed, widows, persons with disabilities, women and others under its 20-point scheme.  

Sawant called upon the people to cooperate to make the State self-sufficient.  

The Chief Minister inaugurated six development works in the constituency. 

He laid the foundation stone for the new fire and emergency services building at Cuncolim and inaugurated two modern emergency rescue tender vehicles at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore.  

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Government Medical Dispensary at Cuncolim. 

Foundation for the box Culvert at Paroda and road widening work in Chandor Panchayat area were also laid, while the underground railway underpass in Chandor Panchayat area was inaugurated. The foundation stone for an approach road for an underpass was also laid. 

MLA Dias said the government has completed 90 per cent work.  "All the promises we made to the voters will be fulfilled before the elections," Dias said and appreciated the Chief Minister and the BJP government for the cooperation.  

“The people have now realised that my decision to join the BJP was right. My association with the BJP will continue in the future,” he said.
