Dr Kakodkar confirmed that one jaundice patient had been admitted at the Curchorem Up-Graded Primary Health Centre.

“Some cases of jaundice have been reported by private doctors and only one patient was admitted in Curchorem Up-Graded Primary Health Centre with increased Serum Bilirubin in his blood,” said Dr Kakodkar.

Dr Kakodkar said jaundice is  a viral disease and can be caused through different types of the hepatitis virus.”

“Human body requires the correct dose of iron. Extra iron can affect other organs of the human body,” said Dr Kakodkar.

He has, however, appealed to people to take precautionary measures by first sedimenting the water, then filtering and boiling it above 100 degrees.
