MARGAO: United Against Coal, a frontal organisation from the villages of Chandor and Guirdolim, involved in the fight against the three linear projects, will be holding a “Magnem” (Prayer Service), on Saturday, at 7 pm.

The prayer service is held to invoke blessings in the fight against the three draconian projects being pushed by the State and Central governments, against the wishes of the people of Goa. The programme is organised under the umbrella organisation of Goyant Kollso Naka.

The venue will be the market square with the historical monuments playing a beautiful background for the service, in these villages banked on rich historical, religious and cultural history.

The programme will start with a short talk by noted historian, Prof Prajal Sakhardande, followed by some cultural presentations by the locals and professionals, finally culminating with the ‘Magnem’, held in a traditional manner, keeping in tune with our rich cultural heritage consisting of glorious days as the erstwhile capital of Goa during the Kadamba Empire.

United for Coal, extends its warm welcome to all the Goenkars to witness and participate in the Magnem to strengthen our endeavour to save beautiful Goa for future generations.
