Colva Police has apprehended the absconding suspects involved in the Benaulim Murder Case, bringing a sense of relief to the community. The case saw the arrest of both accused within a remarkably short span of time.

The primary suspect, Suraj Myageri, who had been on the run, was traced to Kadoli, Belgaum, through diligent surveillance efforts. He was swiftly brought back to Goa late in the evening on March 27, 2024, and placed under arrest. The authorities wasted no time in presenting him before the Hon'ble JMFC Court, Margao, where he was remanded to nine days of police custody.

Meanwhile, the other accused, identified as Mangala alias Vaibhavi Sidnal, was also arrested by the Colva Police. It is alleged that both individuals conspired to execute the murder, which took place on the eve of Holi. The chilling plot unfolded as the victim's wife, Mangala, and her boyfriend, Suraj Myageri, meticulously planned and executed the heinous crime.

According to preliminary investigations, Suraj Myageri visited the victim's residence under the guise of discussing a painting contract, leveraging the victim's profession as a tile fitter and contractor. However, the true intention behind his visit was far more sinister, as it was part of a plan concocted over six months to eliminate the victim.

The accused duo fled the scene of the crime on a scooter belonging to the deceased, attempting to evade justice. However, law enforcement authorities managed to track down the vehicle, along with other crucial pieces of evidence, in Belgaum.

Both accused individuals have been remanded to police custody, with Mangala Sidnal granted seven days of custody and Suraj Myageri nine days. The Colva Police are continuing their investigation, gathering additional evidence to strengthen the case further.
