RAIA: United Club of Verna secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sai Avtar, Anjuna, to march into the quarter-finals of 26th Holy Cross inter-village football tournament played at Kakoda ground, on Friday.
The match kicked off with an explosive start as Clifton Rebello of United Club of Verna found the back of the net within the first minute, seizing an early lead with a clinical finish in a one-on-one situation.
Despite relentless efforts from both sides throughout the game, the scoreline remained unchanged. The score read 1-0 at full time in favour of UC Verna.
