Manovikas HS emerge victorious in clinching U-14 inter-school title

SERAULIM: Manovikas High School scored a narrow 1-0 victory over Fatima Convent HS, Margao, to emerge champions in the Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa U-14 Inter-School Football Tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim, in collaboration with The Base Goa and played at the Base, Seraulim.

The all important goal came through the boots of Anvshri Borkar. Fatima Convent HS  tried their best to equalise but Manovikas goalkeeper Shreeya Naik was at his best under the bar.

Individual prizes: Shreeya Naik from Manovikas claimed the golden Gloves, Dezma D'Costa from Fatima Convent won the Golden Boot award, Best Player of the tournament was awarded to Valusha Gonsalves from Manovikas and the Best Player was awarded to Valusha Gonsalves.

Fr Basil Vago was the chief guest, Fr Benjamin Sacramafilla was the guest of honour, Andrew Ferrrao and Anthony Fernandes were the special attendees along with sister Libya Mascarenhas head mistress of Pepertual Convent and sister Santana Manager of Holy Cross School, Seraulim. The winners and runners up were awarded medals, certificates, trophy besides cash prizes of Rs 16,000 and Rs 9,000, respectively.
