While it might only
be considered wins against two weak teams, there’s still something rather cut-throat about
Manchester United. Their early form suggests a militaristic approach to the
game in these early stages. Apart from physical strength, they also seem
organised and clinical. Having taken apart both their opponents thus far, in
Swansea and West Ham, they have shown that they can take control of the game
and then exert their will on it. Having never climbed to the heights that Sir
Alex Ferguson did during his long tenure at the club, one begins to wonder
whether this is the year that the club’s fortunes finally turn, and whether
this is the beginning of something huge.

It’s too early to
say, to be honest. Fans can be optimistic to think that they are back, but the
reality check is that MUFC is supposed to beat teams like West Ham and Swansea.
We need to keep this form going, but the real test with be the games away to
Liverpool, Chelsea etc. We should play to win games now, but would we cope
playing in the Champions League and PL with limited time to prepare? Jose’s
superb record in the second half of the season is what every MUFC fan hopes
will continue this season. We are surely heading in the right direction, and
can only truly say the good times are back in May if we have our captain
Michael Carrick holding the PL title. Till then, let’s just hope the good run continues
while everyone around us continues to falter.

With two emphatic
wins, we’ve always drawn conclusions about United being contenders every
season. It’s different this season. Looking at players like Nemanja Matic and
Romelu Lukaku brought in this transfer window, United are now a Jose Mourinho
side and do look all fired up for this campaign. This is a start every club
could want and we have to keep pushing teams and be ruthless in every game. The
talks looming about Zlatan Ibrahimovic signing an extension with the club could
be the best piece of news for the manager. I’m sure everyone’s aware that
Jose’s second season at a club has always ended with him winning the league.
I’m positive he can take Manchester United to the pinnacle once again.

Great times do look
like they’re back at Manchester United, with the outcome of the initial two
matches in the Premier League. We have shown the hunger to win that was missing
for the past seasons. This has definitely been the best start to a new campaign
ever since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Jose Mourinho is working his magic on the
club and the team, slowly building his team. We had our downs but hopefully now
the good old days are back. We are definitely strong contenders for winning the
Premier league title this time around.
