FC Goa’s poor campaign this year could be largely due to losing key players. It also lost the coach, key players suffered injuries, some of the players were ruled out due to COVID. I personally feel they need some good signings especially in key positions who can make an immediate impact. This is just a general observation. FC Goa has good Indian players. The foreign signings need to make an impact.

FC Goa is paying for its own misdeeds. I am pained how the club is being ruined by the current management. There seems to be less focus on football and more on business by transfers of players. When the owners’ philosophy is money heist then a club cannot prosper. I think the biggest move to revamp the club would be having Football loving owners as we had in the past. Also the Director of Football needs to be immediately made accountable for the downfall of this club. FC Goa is not just a club for fans but it’s an emotion and we cannot see its ruin.

For the last two years we have seen that nothing seems to be going right for FC Goa. The decision to part ways with Sergio Lobera was the biggest blunder in club history. The sacking not only brought a mass exodus from its dressing room but also its downfall. Even more surprising is that management handpicked Juan Ferrando and decided to part ways with this management which reflects a lot of things. I strongly feel the poor show this year would be because of three main reasons, first being the bad medical team – who failed to fix the injuries of key players like Ortiz, Brandon etc in time which led to their absence in most of the season . Second was the Management decisions who did not retain players and lastly scouting of a good striker for the season.

The players are the heartbeat of the club and I feel FC Goa has shown that it is one of the best teams in ISL. But the key reason I would like to mention is that it looked like the coaching staff did not have powers to decide the starting XI of the team. I feel when the management does not allow the coach a free hand in executing his plan, undue interference by certain people in the dugout leads to such blunders. We can have great Head Coach signing in the form of Juan Ferrando but I felt he could not perform In our club due to many factors, one being authorities trying to overpower . Under Indian Coach Derick Almeida we did not have much to hope for due to the outbreak of COVID-19. We should now have a change in guard and fresh foreign signings should be done to reorganise our FC Goa dugout.

FC Goa has to change the current owners, this is the simple answer to all problems. We do respect that they have helped Goa to have its own ISL franchise but over the years things have changed. Most people sitting in the club are not even from Goa. Most Goans have left the core team and same goes with the players. Gone are the golden days of Romeo-Mandar pairing to score a thriller at Fatorda. The poor show can be attributed to the miscalculated adventures of the management by parting ways with few successful people like Lobera who took the club to greater heights. The question remains to be unanswered why players like Liston Colaco and many others were not retained. Right now we need to revamp the club by bringing the right football loving culture. We need to have the Football First philosophy. We fans want our club to be the no 1 club in India and that is possible if we get good players and a good foreign coach on par with Lobera.

FC Goa needs stability in terms of players and coaches. The buyout clauses are executed very easily and the club has lost its core over the past 3 years. The owners may be happy as they are making profits after the buyout clause is triggered but in the long run it does not help the club as there is no stability. What happens behind closed doors is accessible knowledge only to the players and coaching staff. Maybe the owners were passionate in the beginning but at the moment it just looks like a business transacting club. Of course the club may be hit because of no revenue in last two years and they resorted to some forced decisions. The team will have to be rebuilt and will need an experienced coach and not a rookie and strict contracts which ties down players and the coach so that the identity is rebuilt

In my opinion FC Goa had a very decent start to the season. They did not have an exceptional transfer window losing key players like Igor Angulo while not replacing him with someone reliable. The loss of Juan Ferrando mid-season created a lot of unrest and disruption in the process which led to the debacle. We played good football throughout the season in the middle of the pitch. We just lacked in the final 3rd. Also our defence and keeper had a very bad tournament. COVID and Absence of fans did not help either. The club will be back stronger next season especially with the fans back.

This year FC Goa had quite a disappointing season, which every FC Goa fan would like to forget. These last two seasons were difficult due to COVID as the players have to be in bio-bubble all the time. FC Goa lost the initial matches due to missing players owing to injuries and then gaining the confidence back was never easy in the given setup where players were not even training together on the practice grounds due to COVID cases. And then we had to search for a new coach midway as Juan went to ATKMB for better prospects. To add to the misery many on field decisions by the match officials were against FCGoa. I also have to mention the political issue at Salvador do mundo , which meant FCGoa had no practice ground for many days. Hopefully we shall come back stronger next season

There are several reasons for FC Goa’s poor performance. Brandon’s injury at the start of the season, ATK poaching Juan Ferrando from FC Goa, very lowkey performance from Dheeraj Singh and also poor quality of striker.

Club president should stop fooling the fans by saying “trust the process”. The gimmick has failed miserably at FC Goa. Every time we keep hearing the so-called process in statements but the result is zero. We had the highest ball possession in ISL but if we cannot convert opportunities into goals then there is no use of possessing the ball. We need to have a good coach next season and rope in quality strikers on par with Coro.

After a topsy-turvy season, FC Goa finished at the bottom half of the table. With many injuries, some players out of form, the COVID cases in the bubble and a lot of errors from referees – the season was one to forget for every fan. The management’s decision to let go Angulo and sign an out of touch striker did not help the matters. With notable injury lay off to Brandon, Dheeraj being out of form and a defence that did not settle well were few other reasons for club’s bad season. Also there was a change in the coaching structure. Juan’s mid-season departure did not help the team’s cause.
