I refer to Dr. Francisco Colaco’s letter on the Konkani film Kachom-ia Kumpasar in Herald dated 13th Jan. 2015. While I partly blame Lorna for the mess she created in her life, one must remember that it takes two hands to clap.
Once she got deeply attracted to Chris, it was difficult for her to get out of the situation.
Some years back we had our Parish fete. Lorna had to perform somewhere towards the end of the show. She was housed in one bungalow close to the venue. The then Asst. Parish Priest had requested us to accompany Lorna till her time slot on stage. Though I did not know Lorna, she first started weeping hysterically. Then she told me her story about Chris and her. I asked her why she was crying when he is dead and gone and why she got involved with him when she knew he was already a married man with four children. She did not have any answer but went on crying. Finally, the old lady counseled her calmed down and went ahead with her performance.
I admire Lorna. She is a diva of Konkani songs. I used to sing them and win prizes in my young days. There is no one who can beat her in her voice. Dotor, keeping your apprehension aside, please watch the movie, you will enjoy it as you are a lover of Konkani language.
