The most powerful force in a democracy is not its leaders (aka dictator) but the power of the people. This has been proved by the people of Goa on many occasions right from the famous opinion poll, language agitation and recently the Regional Plan.
The recent statements made by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar that “whether we like it or not” he would go ahead and that “no force can ground Mopa airport”, only show his arrogance and desperation.
Is Mopa more important than all the other issues plaguing Goa like the Regional Plan, mining, Zuari Bridge and many more urgent needs affecting the day to day lives of the people?
The government has to serve all the people of the state whether they live in the North, South, East or West. The next big agitation to ground the present government would be the Mopa agitation and many MLA’s who have not yet woken up to this reality will have to bite the dust.
