The pavement bears an ugly appearance and has become rather unhygienic for travellers and pedestrians proceeding along this route. The concerned authorities need to deal severely with persons dumping waste material over this pavement. Cash fines must be levied on the defaulters so that the prevailing undesirable practice ends on a permanent basis. On many occasions I have noticed private cars in Ponda being parked over the pavements meant for pedestrians. With the ever-increasing vehicular traffic on roads, it is absolutely necessary that the existing pavements are available for public use as and when needed. This will go a long way in assuring them the much needed relief while proceeding along the concerned routes. Safety needs to be assured to precious lives at all costs.
