Committing crimes is not a new thing for most of the Goa Police personnel; about 60 per cent of their senior staffs are either booked/suspended for committing serious crimes. But every time they are caught in wrongdoing, their political godfathers come to their rescue as obviously every criminal needs fellow criminals to go unpunished.
The way the DIG and SP of Anti-Corruption Branch(ACB) of Goa Police are trying to save their most unfit SP Atmaram V Deshpande proves they too are equally from the same gene of corruption and more or less can club them as cowards than police officers. DIG V Renganathan and SP Bosco George have disrespected the uniform they are wearing and send a clear cut message to other corrupt officers that they are there to save their personals of their misdeeds.
Foremost the biggest joke of graft case is the way DIG of Goa Police allowed the Deshpande batch mate (SP George) to conduct serious corruption inquiry against him. Is this not conflict of interest? Or is it that the DIG is also part of various corruption/crimes taking parts the department? If so only God help the people of Goa and handful of honest police personal in the department.
And shouldn’t the tainted SP be either suspended or transferred to some other section of department when it first came to light the irregularities inside the Goa Police Training School Valpoi. No one expect irregularities and corruption at Goa Police Training School and worst part the highest hierarchy of department going all out to save the officer.
We Goans don’t expect anything from CM Parsekar or any other politicians as it is very crystal clear that SP Deshpande strives in the department on the basic of rogues’ class of Goa politicians and he is misfit to be policeman. We also know he is the recipient of President Medal which is nothing than mockery of esteem award moreover at least in Goa.
If SP Atmaram V Deshpande has any moral values or dignity in himself than he would request the DIG to relive him from any other postings until and unless the graft inquiry is conducted by some other honest officer (not even DYSP D’Silva) and come clean else he would always remain as corrupt officer in the eyes of the Goans.
