Focus on improving tourism

Let’s look at the bigger picture. We don’t want to see any more new projects or something inaugurated. Here is what we want and let’s see if this can be done!

What can we do differently with our tourism industry and spend the tax payers money wisely? Foreign tourism to Goa/Charters are on the decline. Let’s face it. So my sincere request is stop posting and marketing yourself on social media but get cracking on turning things around.
Why can’t we focus on the basic main issues, complete them and then look at things like ‘Hot air’ balloons, walk ways from Panjim to Nerul, etc. Mr Minister why can’t you ensure and follow up with basics like: Clean beaches,  good roads, no garbage bins and garbage disposal, proper public transport , control over taxi fares, airport shuttles, proper advertising of our state — videos showcasing Goa to every visitor, maps and things to do other than the beaches on flyers at the airports, etc. No touts and vendors harassing tourists on the beaches selling fruit, toys, massages and also at the same time stealing from our foreign tourists?
Here are a few questions to our Tourism Department and CM:
What percentage of our tourists are using your Hot Air Balloon service, or river rafting?  Why don’t you instead promote a museum of Goa showcasing its artists, culture, furniture, etc? We have so many villages with artisans that need to be kept alive. Get them involved.
Copy and implement the Dubai Museum get ideas and implement.  Our MLAs travel abroad ever so often, how come we do not bring back and implement anything good seen abroad? It’s our tax money being spent and we want to see a difference. After every trip, let them publish their findings and what they propose.
Is it only the beaches? What about inland tourism. What about our bird sanctuaries, lakes, rivers, villages, music, festivals.
Lastly we would like you to be a tourist for a day….please drive through touristic areas and inspect. This is a true leader.
