When NeighboUr’s cat meows

Taking very serious note of reports published by this newspaper for last two weeks regarding the demolitions of hutments in Baina I want to send this message along with all my Goan brethren to Kalyanrao Muchalambi, who represents the association of Kannadigas, that you don’t threaten Goans with cheap tactics of blackmailing us with stopping milk and vegetables.

We Goans together have fought the worst battles to save our land from intruders right from the opinion poll to language agitation, Konkan railway re-alignment, Meta strips , Nylon 66 and Goa Bachao Abhiyan to mention a few and please don’t even ever think or say again that Goans are depending on Karnataka.
Before planning to  stop supplies to Goa have you ever paused and thought that your own brethren who work hard in the farms and those truck drivers who drive down the Ghats to deliver the product will be soon unemployed? You have to be  grateful because Goa plays an important role in providing employment and creating more opportunities to your people back home.
If these Kannadigas want to live in Goa they have to respect our culture and the laws of  land here. Our newspaper (Herald ) has brought photographs of domestic tourists on several occasions doing nuisance on beaches, littering and defecating in  public places. If Goans happen to live or travel to other parts of our country  we will abide by the laws and norms of that place. This migrants went  to such an extent where power and water pilferage was  evident during demolitions.
Until a policy comes in place to curtail the migrant influx the government has to take and adhere to strict decisions in this matter. Authorities are struggling and doing blame games on who has to file FIR against landlords for not registering C forms of their tenants. Now in this case watch who will play the  blame game in filing FIR against corrupt officials and politicians who made way for issuing NOCs for electricity , water and house taxes?
Goans will continue fighting against the ills of the society affecting our culture. It is time for our elected MPs to deliver their promise on special status. Goa is in crisis for water and electricity. We are fighting for water tributaries, planning new power generating plants. Special status is the only answer if Goans don’t want to live at the mercy of the corrupt and chancers like Muchalambi.
Now, the people know the ugly face of the Congress government who created chaos in the state supporting illegalities and the biggest being mining. Today , we all Goans raise our voice together Hon’ble CM, that we the people who gave your party a clear mandate demand what we deserve to save our state from these intruders because you know how you feel when a neighbour’s  cat meows.
