India rejects Pakistan’s ‘false’ Op Sindoor claims at UNSC

India delivered a strong rebuttal at the United Nations Security Council, rejecting Pakistan’s “false and self-serving” claims on Operation Sindoor. India’s Permanent Representative Parvathaneni Harish said Pakistan was attempting to normalise terrorism while interfering in India’s internal affairs. He reiterated that Pakistan-sponsored terrorists killed 26 civilians in Pahalagam in April 2025, prompting India’s measured and non-escalatory response to dismantle terror infrastructure. Harish noted that Pakistan itself sought a ceasefire on May 10 after suffering damage to multiple air bases, evidence of which is publicly available. Emphasising that terrorism can never be a “new normal,” he reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir remains an integral part of India and defended India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty due to repeated violations by Pakistan.
