Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 23 said India was emerging as a strong and resolute nation that understands how to build, manage and use power responsibly. Speaking via video conference at a Parakram Diwas event in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to mark Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary, Mr. Modi said a weak nation struggles to achieve its goals, a belief strongly held by Netaji. Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said India responded firmly to attacks by striking back decisively. The Prime Minister highlighted India’s growing defence self-reliance, noting that defence exports have crossed ₹23,000 crore. He said indigenously developed missiles such as BrahMos were gaining global recognition as India modernises its armed forces.
