During the final two days of the summit, scheduled for February 19 and 20, French President Emmanuel Macron will deliver a keynote address, followed by remarks from Prime Minister Modi, marking a strong show of international collaboration on artificial intelligence policy, innovation, and governance.

For India, the summit represents a strategic platform to showcase its vast pool of engineering talent and digitally skilled workforce. With a population of over a billion connected through digital public infrastructure and identified via the Aadhaar biometric system, India is positioning itself as a major contender in the next phase of AI development.

The country’s technology journey reflects its ability to leapfrog stages of innovation. Although India missed the early personal computer revolution, it went on to become a global software services hub and rapidly transitioned from limited landline access to nearly a billion smartphone users in less than two decades.

As nations intensify competition to shape the future of artificial intelligence, India’s hosting of the India AI Impact Summit signals its intent to play a central role in steering global AI innovation, regulation, and responsible deployment.
