Burglars targeted two temples and one jewellery shop in Curchorem area and decamped with cash of Rs 1 lakh and other articles on Tuesday.
According to reports, the burglars entered Santeri Temple in Curchorem market by break opening the doors and decamped with cash from the donation box. The burglars after break opening the donation box decamped with the cash and abandoned the donation box in the gutter behind the temple.
The burglars also entered in the Mahamaya Santeri Temple at Hader-Curchorem by breaking the door and lifted the donation box from the temple. After removing the cash from the donation box, the burglars threw it outside the temple.
Later, the burglars affected entry in a jewellery shop in main Curchorem market. The burglars opened the shutter and decamped with silver ornaments worth Rs 50,000.
Curchorem MLA Shyam Satardekar visited the three spots and took stock of the situation and directed Curchorem police to conduct intensive investigation to nab the culprits. Curchorem police PI Bhanudas Dessai is investigating the case.
