MARGAO: Cuncolim police arrested Santosh Sutar, 30, for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 15-year old girl. The police have rescued the girl from the accused.
The police had launched a search operation after the victim’s father had filed a complaint regarding his daughter’s kidnapping. Cuncolim police have filed a crime against the accused under IPC Section 262 and Goa POCSO Act, clause 8.

During the operation, police traced the accused and the girl to Calangute. When presented in court, accused Sutar was remanded to 2-day police custody. Cuncolim PI Diago Gracias said that the further investigation is underway.
