450 bedded Ward Block at GMC soon: Vishwajeet

PANJIM, JAN 6 Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane said the 450 bedded Ward Block at GMC complex, Bambolim built at a cost of Rs 25 crore under Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited will be inaugurated on Republic Day.

Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane said the 450 bedded Ward Block at GMC complex, Bambolim built at a cost of Rs 25 crore under Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited will be inaugurated on Republic Day.
Mr Rane said this after acquainting himself and reviewing the progress of work of five storey building block underway at GMC complex on Tuesday.
The Health Minister was accompanied by Health Secretary Anand Prakash, Dr V N Jindal, Dean of GMC, Santhanan, MD, GSIDC and other GSIDC officials.
Mr Rane further stated that apart from the Ward Block building which is an extension to the existing Surgical Ward and Paying Ward Building, three other projects which includes Yatri Niwas built at a cost of Rs 5.5 crores for the people accompanying the patients at GMC, two storey Goa Dental College Hostel at Bambolim constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crores to accommodate 183 students and sub-way having a provision for 24 shops constructed at a cost of Rs 7.5 crores between GMC and Dental Hospital will also be inaugurated on January 26. All these projects are constructed under GSIDC, he added.
The Health Minister was impressed to see the quality of work and at the same time directed the concerned accompanying authorities to complete the unfinished work before the date slated for inauguration.
He also instructed them to complete the work of landscaping at sub-way immediately. He told the concerned authorities to see that adequate staff is provided at new Ward Block at GMC to cater to the needs of patients.
