PANJIM: Accusing the government of seeking to stifle the voice of the people, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday said it has always stood with the villagers of Shel-Melauli and would continue to do so in future notwithstanding whatever tactics the government used to harass them.
Briefing media persons AAP spokesperson Sandesh Telekar said he has been summoned to the court of the deputy collector on January 28, under the Criminal Procedure Code. “I have been asked to show cause as to why I should not execute a good behaviour bond,” he said.

As per the notice served on Sandesh besides executing the bond of Rs 10,000, he has also been asked to submit a surety of like amount to ensure that he maintains good behaviour for six months.
AAP leader Surel Tilve said many villagers have also got similar orders and added that this is yet another means adopted by the government to harass the common man, who will not get intimated by such tactics.
Meanwhile, AAP promised to deliver government services to the people at their doorsteps as done in Delhi and urged the Chinchinim locals at its Vij Andolan meeting to vote the party to power in the next elections.
Addressing the crowd gathered near the chapel at Palmar Grande, AAP leader Sandesh Telekar explained how in Delhi all government services are available at the doorstep.
Meanwhile, AAP Goa convener Rahul Mhambre said the very fact that Power Minister Nilesh Cabral has once again questioned the power policy of Delhi proves that he is getting rattled with the response the Vij Andolan is receiving across the State.
Responding to Nilesh’s statement that his government is not foolish to give free power to those consuming below 200 units of power per month as these units are second homes of people who do not live there, Rahul asked whether 90 per cent of the power consumers in Goa are second home owners.
