AAP condemns govt’s action

PANJIM: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday condemned the BJP government for using force against fruit vendors outside GMC. AAP leader and National Youth Vice-President Cecille Rodrigues rushed to Panjim Police Station and helped the vendors, intervening on their behalf to secure their release.

“Now is not the time to use force against Goenkars who are trying to make a living in COVID-19 pandemic,” the party said in a press statement.

“Instead of working with Goenkars and assuaging their fears the authorities have used an iron hand on them. The pandemic and lockdown has hit most Goans economically and the government instead of helping them is taking coercive steps against those who are trying to earn a living. Instead of meeting with vendors and clarifying the position the BJP has chosen using brute force,” the AAP said.
