Panjim BJP MLA Babush Monserrate on Tuesday expressed relief and gratitude after being acquitted of all allegations against him by the Special Court in connection with a case registered in 2016.
Speaking after the verdict, Monserrate said the past decade had been an extremely difficult period in his life. “I have been acquitted of all the allegations against me by the court; it has been a long 10-year wait, and only I know how much I have suffered each day,” he said.

He also thanked his family, friends, and supporters for standing by him throughout the prolonged legal battle.
The Special Court at Merces had earlier acquitted Monserrate as well as co-accused Rosario alias Rosy Ferros, bringing the long-pending case to a close.
