PANJIM: The Goa State Committee of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) on Tuesday denounced the decision of the Goa government not to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission to employees of government corporations, municipalities, panchayats, societies and other public sector undertakings.
“This decision of the government is totally unfair and improper. The government must know that recommendations of the earlier pay commission have been extended to these employees from time to time and suddenly drawing a line of discrimination between government employees and employees of corporations, municipalities, panchayats, societies and other public sector undertakings is biased and prejudicial,” AITUC Secretary Suhas Naik said.
“The employees have a right on the 7th pay recommendations as the present salary is inadequate considering the inflation ridden economy,” he said.
Naik said AITUC will resort to democratic forms of protest and demonstrations, demanding implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations to all employees.
