QUEPEM: Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa has claimed that three panchayats in his constituency have been taken over by Congress-backed winners and more would follow before the newly elected local bodies assume charge.

He asserted “Morpirla, Balli-Adne, Nakheri-Betul panchayats all three panchayats will have Congress-backed panels taking charge, while the rest of the panchayats may change the equation on our side by August 22.”
D’Costa claimed that out of the seven panchayats of the Quepem constituency, three panchayats have been taken over by Congress, including the Balli-Adane panchayat which has 5 wards in the Cuncolim constituency, of which 4 winners are backed by Yuri Alemao.
