Sanguem: Consequent to the report in ‘Herald’ on Monday, the authorities involved in cutting the road from Pajimol to Uguem swung into action and provided some relief to the commuters on the Pajimol- Uguem road.
A contractor involved in laying the water pipeline to Wadem for the Selaulim Irrigation Project had dug a major portion of the main road from Pajimol to Sanguem.
The contractor could have laid the pipeline in the extended area and could have avoided digging the road which was tarred some months earlier.
Due to the digging of the road, commuters on the Pajimol – Bhati road particularly two wheeler riders are facing severe problems as the portion of the road which is dug is becoming slippery due to fine mud particles.
However after a report on ‘Herald’, the authorities which had cut the road in the middle of the road to lay the pipeline across the road at Pajimol and Uguem have redone the road by cementing the portion of the road which was damaged.
The commuters have now urged the authorities to get the black topping of the damaged portion of the road done at the earliest.
It may be recalled that the Junior Engineer attached to the PWD Sanguem have claimed the tender to repair the damaged portion to have already issued.
