PANJIM: The spree of heavy vehicles getting stuck on roads continues in the capital city, as on Thursday, a rear tyre of a water tanker got stuck in the haphazardly fixed pit near Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto-Panjim.
Recently, on the said road stretch deep pits were dug up and work related to the sewer line was undertaken by the government, and after completion of the work the road was restored.
Fortunately, in Thursday’s incident no one was injured, even the driver of the truck escaped unhurt.
This is the 10th such incident reported in Panjim since February 6, 2023 as works under Smart City Mission is underway.
Such incidents have taken place at St Inez, near the Government printing press, Azad Maidan and the heritage area of Sao Tome in Panjim. In one of the incidents four labourers were injured and they had to be admitted to hospital.
