MARGAO: Four of the 16 inmates of Apna Ghar, Merces, who had escaped from the protective home last week, were apprehended by the Margao police on the station road on Tuesday.
The four inmates were spotted by policemen in a PRC van comprising ASI Kotarkar, Head constables Shekar Rane and Savlo Naik and were detained on suspicion. The four juveniles, one girl and three boys, were found loitering along the station road, Margao. They were later identified as inmates of Apna Ghar.
Margao PI Sudesh Naik who interrogated the four delinquent juveniles said the foursome sustained themselves on Rs 2,500 in possession of a juvenile girl. They are believed to have spent the money on food and the girl was left with Rs 40 at the time they were apprehended by the police.
One of the boys was identified by the investigating officer PSI Girendra Naik as accused who had attempted to murder his own sister some time back and arrested by Margao police and admitted to Apna Ghar. They were later handed over to Apna Ghar, Merces.
