PANJIM: Goa government has begun the process to commence surveying and demarcating private forest areas as it has floated expression of interest (EOI) inviting proposals from the bidders.
As per the EOI, the selected bidder will be tasked with initially carrying out the work in approximately 300 running kms within one year after which further targets will be assigned depending on the balance area of the private forest.
The scope of work also includes clearing the boundary line between identified private forest and non-forest private areas under directions from the Private Forest Committee through Deputy Conservator of Forests.
The preliminary map of the work, which has to be carried out under the supervision of the Head Surveyor and the Range Officer of the respective divisions, will have to be produced before the PFC for approval while the final plan will be certified by the officers to later submit to the committee.
“The final demarcated plan of the private forest areas will have to be incorporated into the cadastral plan of the government of Goa. The work shall be finally submitted to the government for approval and further action,” it
further mentions.
The last date for submission of EOI response has been fixed as Tuesday and opening of the responses will be done on the same day.
