Concerns were raised regarding the lack of payment of taxes by vendors and unregistered commercial establishments. Villagers demanded proper notices and legal action to recover taxes from these entities, aiming to ease the burden on house taxpayers and generate revenue for the Panchayat.
Another major demand was for a public crematorium in Bandora Panchayat. Residents highlighted the challenges faced by those settling in the area from other parts of Goa and migrant populations, who struggle to conduct final rites in the absence of a public crematorium. Villagers expressed readiness to provide NOCs for this purpose and stressed the importance of having a crematorium locally.
Additionally, the issue of the Bahusaheb Bandodkar football ground was discussed, with villagers urging the panchayat to reclaim possession from the PWD. They spoke about the need for recreational spaces to prevent youth from falling into unhealthy habits and requested support from government authorities to regain possession of the ground.
The gram sabha also addressed the renovation of the Panchayat Hall, including the installation of air conditioning. Villagers called for the identification of open spaces for parks, gardens, and other public amenities, as well as the establishment of a library in the village. It was decided to conduct inspections of Anganwadis to address any issues and ensure a healthy environment for children, who are the future generation of the country.
