In the end, a decision was taken that the proposal, which had been sent to the PWD by the panchayat, would now be kept in abeyance until further notice.

It was also decided that another public meeting would be held to deliberate on this issue solely and that here a decision would be taken about the said project.

The sarpanch also clarified that no alignment route or survey numbers had been specified.

While one section claimed the ring road will serve no purpose and in turn affect the fields and environment, the other group who are based in Ilha de Rachol spoke about how they need the ring road given the difficulties they face with regular transport, as the present internal roads are narrow.

There was broad agreement however that action be taken against encroachments on these internal village roads so that the size of the passageway is increased.

Earlier, the budget for the upcoming financial year was passed.

A resolution was also taken not to allow people from outside the village to sit at one particular location after 10 pm for fishing or other activities. It was also decided to file a police complaint about the damage done to a parapet where these people sit.
