Beautified spots at Dhargalim turn into garbage dump

PERNEM: Two beautified spots at Dhargalim, Shriram Mandir and Don Khamb, has turned into a garbage dumping site. The two places were beautified under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme by GTDC.

The work, which was supposed to be carried out by PWD road division, was done under GTDC by the previous government, as the cost was goes into crores.

It has been noticed that all the projects started under the scheme in Pernem are either left half done or have lacked maintenance once completed.

Some of the projects under the scheme which were initiated are Morjai Temple, Bhagwati Mandir, Parcem, Bhagwati Sapteshwar, Mandrem, parking at Ashvem Beach, main road at Arambol, Kamleshwar Mandir, Korgao, Mauli Mandir, Varkhand and many more. Some of these works have been started while some halted after laying the foundation stone.
