BJP protests against fuel price hike

PANJIM, JUNE 28 Making most of the public resentment against the government's decision effecting hike in prices of petrol by Rs 3.50 a litre and diesel by Rs 2 a litre and also rise in cooking gas and cooking fuel kerosene, the BJP activists on Monday staged a dharna in the city to voice their displeasure.

Making most of the public resentment against the government’s decision effecting hike in prices of petrol by Rs 3.50 a litre and diesel by Rs 2 a litre and also rise in cooking gas and cooking fuel kerosene, the BJP activists on Monday staged a dharna in the city to voice their displeasure.
The BJP activists comprising of mahila activists and senior BJP leaders staged dharna opposite Captain of Ports shouting slogans denouncing the government’s decision increasing prices of petroleum products.
The Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar, Mapusa MLA Francis D’Souza, Siolim MLA Dayanand Mandrekar and other office bearers of the BJP and activists with placards in hand criticised the government over price hike.
Speaker said “common man” has been already badly affected by the persistent rise in prices of essential commodities but current hike will further worsen his economic situation.
