Former Delhi mayor Aarti Mahera has warned that the BJP is ready to shed the blood for Kashmir, but will not accept the concept of autonomy for Kashmir.
Mahera was addressing a gathering of BJP workers during the nation-wide ‘Kashmir Bachoa Din’ observed by the BJP at Tourist hall, here on Saturday.
“The BJP will go at any extent to save the Kashmir and is even ready to shed blood and come on the streets, if the peace is not restored immediately,” said Mahera.
She warned the central government that mistake committed by former prime minister Jawaharlala Nehru by imposing Article 370 for Kashmir should not be repeated.
“Kashmir is an integral part of India and a pride of our nation. Not a single inch of land will be compromised,” she said.
In her speech, Mahera recalled how the central government failed to curb the growing violence in the valley and alleged that terror groups funded by Pakistan are involved in creating violence.
“The BJP strongly rejects the central government’s concept of providing autonomy to Kashmir. A similar approach was made by the then Kashmir government before former prime minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee and he had rejected the proposal.”
“It’s time to motivate the army and para military forces in Kashmir, who are demoralized by growing violence in the valley,” said Mahera.
Other speaking at the function included Opposition Leader Manohar Parrikar, State BJP President Laxmikant Parsekar, former Vasco MLA Rajendra Arlekar and city councilor Krishna Salkar.
Fatorda MLA Damu Naik, Mormugao MLA Milind Naik, Govind Parvatkar, State BJP Youth Chief Rupesh Mahatme, former MMC chairperson Deepak Naik, councilor Chitra Gawas and Kunda Chodankar were among those present at the function.
