Board seeks public suggestions on Class XII marks criteria

PANJIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) on Wednesday invited public with their suggestions for tabulating marks of Class XII students, following cancellation of the Board exam 2021. 

In a notice issued, the Board has said that it is in the process to prepare well defined objective criteria for tabulation of Class XII marks.

“In view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it was decided that Class XII Board Examination of GBSHSE would not be held this year,” the notice reads.

With cancellation of exams, the Board said that it was decided that GBSHSE will take steps to compile the results of class XII students as per a well defined objective criteria in a time bound manner. 

As such, all the general public residing in the State are requested to provide their valuable suggestions with regard to preparation of well defined objective criteria for tabulation of Class XII marks, GBSHSE said.

Sources informed that the Board is also awaiting report of the high-powered committee, constituted by the Central Board of Secondary Eduation (CBSE) to finalize the evaluation criteria for their Class XII board exam results.

Around 19,025 students had registered for Board examination, which were initially scheduled from April 24 but had to be postponed and later cancelled in view of COVID pandemic.
