MAPUSA: The body of a Malpem-Virnoda resident was found floating in Mapusa River on Monday.
According to Mapusa Police, the PCR received a call informing them that a body is floating in the river near visarjan platform at Tar Mapusa. A team of Mapusa Police and Mapusa fire personnel rushed to the spot and retrieved the body.

Mapusa Police conducted the panchanama and sent the body to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim for autopsy. Mapusa Police registered a case of unnatural death. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Mayur Prabhudessai from Malpem-Virnoda, currently residing at Peddem. Mayur was missing since Sunday noon. PSI Sunil Patil is investigating the case.
