PANJIM: The arrest of Mehul Modi, accused of selling counterfeit entry passes for Supersonic electronic dance music festival, has given Goa Police another lead – the Mumbai native is involved in selling duplicate passes for Sunburn festival for the last eight years.
On December 30, the Calangute police had arrested Modi for selling counterfeit wrist bands at a low cost, taking cognizance of a complaint filed by Shane D’Souza of Viacom 18.
Police have now found that Modi allegedly used the same modus operandi at the Sunburn event for the last eight years. The Sunburn organizers have now filed a complaint with the North Goa Superintendent of Police Priyanka Kashyap requesting to investigate him while also probing his operations.
