PORVORIM: The Porvorim Police on Monday recovered a body of a Britona resident, which was found floating in the Salvador do Mundo Char Manos.
According to sources, 45-year-old Rajendra Guna Halankar had allegedly gone to answer nature’s call in the open at the char manos around 3 am and failed to return home. Locals identified the body floating and informed Rajendra’s sister, who informed the Porvorim Police around 2 pm.
A police team rushed to the spot and fished out the body and conducted the panchanama.
Relatives informed that Rajendra was undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim and could have fallen into the water due to weakness.
Police have sent the body to the morgue at GMC, Bambolim and post mortem will be held on Tuesday.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and PSI Chandrakant Gawas is further investigating the case.
