VASCO/MARGAO: There is a tussle happening over the body of Shivani Rajawat, the wife of Anurag Rajawat on whom the needle of suspicion of the family of the victims, is getting more pointed, as the suspected killer of north Shivani and her mother Jaidevi.
Shubham Singh Chauhan, the brother of deceased Shivani Rajawat and the son of Jaidevi Chauhan, also killed in the infamous LPG vapour blast case has named his brother-in-law Anurag Rajawat, a navy officer of “murdering” his closest relatives.

In his letter to the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Mormugao, dated November 25, Shubham Singh Chauhan has alleged that attempts are being made to make the incident look like an accident. He has alleged clearly in his letter, a copy of which is with O Heraldo that it is “a planned murder”.
The letter of Shubham Singh Chauhan is in reply to the SDM Mormugao, a letter dated November 24 who informed Chauhan that Anurag Rajawat (the husband of the deceased Shivani) also wanted to take custody of the body to conduct final rites.
The SDM asked Shubham to inform in writing within four days, whether the body should be handed over for the conduct of last rites, “failing which this office will issue NOC to Anurag Singh Rajawat to take over the possession of the dead body for doing last religious rites.”
In his letter to the SDM, deceased Shivani’s brother says, “Anurag Rajawat is making attempts to make the death of my mother Jaidevi and my sister Shivani look like an accident. Their death is not an accident but a well-planned murder,” he said.
While naming his brother-in-law Anurag, Shubham said, “I suspect that Anurag has murdered my mother and my wife and has tried to make it look like it was an accident. Hence, until it is clear how they died I request not to give the dead body of my sister to Anurag Rajawat or any other person.”
Shubam has also requested the SDM to hand him a copy of the post-mortem report and keep the body until it is clear whether the case is a murder or an accident.
Meanwhile, Bhagwant Karmali, Dy Collector and SDM Mormugao has summoned Shubham Singh Chauhan and his father Dileep Singh Chauhan to appear on December 7 to join the inquiry being conducted under Section 176 of the CrPC.
