PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday held pre-Budget meeting with the Chief Secretary, Secretaries and Heads of departments, wherein the departments submitted draft proposals with revenue generating strategies along with development works.
Sawant will be presenting his last full-fledged Budget of the current tenure. It is expected to be tabled in the State Assembly session in March.
Sources informed that a pre-budget review meeting with the secretaries and departmental heads was held on Thursday.
During the meeting, the departments presented the report on highlighting various reforms initiated by the departments in last two years that is 2019-20 and 2020-21 along with proposed reforms for 2021-22.
The report card on the achievements of the departments of last two years including the ongoing financial year was also placed before the Chief Minister for review.
The status of the Centrally sponsored schemes and the State government schemes like it’s implementation, budgetary provision and spending, was submitted to the government, sources said.
Sources said that departments also submitted the list of new Centrally sponsored scheme proposals sent by them to the Centre.
“Also, the proposal with what are the revenue strategies they intend to adopt during the upcoming financial year to revive the State economy and generate revenue for the State was discussed and put up,” sources said.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant during recent media interaction had said that the Budget 2021-22 would be focused on Swayampurna Goem concept.
