Campaigning begins for SMC polls

SANQUELIM: The campaigning for Sanquelim Municipal Council (SMC) election from Virdi village has officially begun on Friday. “We have begun after taking blessings of Lord Mahadev at Virdi village temple and are confident that BJP will win all 13 wards this time,” Pramod Sawant said, adding they got a very good response from villagers on the first day of campaigning. The SMC elections will be held on May 6 and filing of nominations will begin from 12. The last day for filing nomination is April 20.
