Chhattisgarh native now booked for murder

MAPUSA: The Chhattisgarh native Vikram Manik who was previously booked for assault and robbery is now booked for murder.
Mapusa police said that the victim Kusum Sirsat who was allegedly assaulted by Vikram succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital on Thursday. 
Vikram was called by Kusum to clean her house at Ansabhat Mapusa and since he worked till late in the evening, on his requested he was allowed to stay there for the night. On the next day early morning at around 5.30 am, the accused entered into Kusum’s bedroom, assaulted her and snatched two gold bangles and a gold chain from her. He also threatened Kusum’s daughter Shradha Sirsat and snatched a gold chain from her all worth Rs 1.50 lakh and fled from the place.
A Mapusa police team headed by PI Tushar Lotlikar managed to arrest the accused at Porvorim.
 and recovered the gold ornaments. The accused was a resident of Porvorim.
