VASCO: Stating that the Chicalim Sub District Hospital would provide give best specialists, medical facilities to the people, Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho on Wednesday said the hospital would be run privately but the people would not be charged heavily like the private hospitals as the government would bear the cost.

When questioned on privatising Chicalim Sub District hospital, Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho said “This Chicalim sub district hospital needs to function like a modern hospital and people should get all facilities. In GMC some things have been privatised, but the most of its cost will be borne by the government. Like private hospital, the people will not be charged heavily and the government will bear most of the expenses. This hospital will be run privately so that people get best doctors and best medical services this is how this model has been explained to me.”
Godinho said, “If this hospital works as per the explained model then its good but in case if there is some change and people face problem then I will be the first person to raise the issue. I do not feel this move is to trouble people.”
